Snakes and Horses

I have yet to meet anyone who described 2025 as... gentle.

We can point to many reasons for this, but one that resonates with many folks is that 2025 was the year of the snake in the Chinese Zodiac Calendar (well, mostly anyway, the Chinese New Year technically began at the end of January last year).

In the Chinese Zodiac tradition, snake years involve a heavy amount of shedding, transformation, challenges and changes along with the ability to more authentically access grounded intuition and wisdom.

While many aspects of the last year might not have been described as "easy" just like the ancient ouroboros teaches us, everything has a season and last year's season of shedding has impeccable timing, because it is immediately followed by the year of the Horse (which begins February 17).

Just as the image of a wild horse galloping across a field would suggest; the year of the Horse is about forward momentum, boldness, freedom and the breaking of molds.

How would we ever be able to embrace the fullest spiritual essence of the Horse, without first having shed all that was released with the potent snake energy from last year.
